To enrol in PNOE click here from your smartphone: https://scepi.euc.ac.cy/in/pnoe or scan this QR code:

The first time you click (or scan) you will be brought to the installation page (on Google Play Store or Apple App Store) of the SCEPI application, through which you have access to the PNOE questionnaires. After you install the app, click again on the link or scan QR code to enrol in PNOE.

The application will take you to the Informed Consent Form, and after you provide your consent, it will ask you for your email address for identification and login purposes. Researchers cannot see your email address – you remain fully anonymous to them. After you fill in the app the one-time password (OTP) that will be sent to your email, you will be registered in PNOE and have access to its questionnaires.

There are 6 questionnaires in PNOE. Right after your enrolment we would like you to fill in the first three (Q1: Participant intake questionnaire, Q2: Annual baseline health questionnaire and Q3: Annual vaccination questionnaire). You won’t need more than 10 minutes for all three, and you only need to do this once!

From then onwards you only need to fill in Q4: Weekly symptoms checklist once every week, to report whether you have had any symptoms of illness during the past 7 days. It only takes a minute!

In case you had symptoms, we ask you do describe these symptoms a bit more, and there is also a daily recurring questionnaire (Q5: Daily symptom diary) on which you may record the course of your illness with a few simple questions.

All questionnaires can be filled retrospectively too (by clicking “View history”) and all information you have provided can be modified or deleted at any time.

Through the app, researchers can message you (for example to remind you to fill in the weekly questionnaire) and you can also message them if you have any question, with full anonymity.

You can also share PNOE with others (as a link or QR code) so that they enrol as well – the more people enrol, the better our understanding of respiratory illness in the community!

Finally, in the “Settings” tab you can adjust your preferred language (all PNOE questionnaires are available in English and Greek) and you can exercise your right to data portability (by downloading a zip archive with all the information you have submitted) and the right to be forgotten. You see, both the SCEPI application and the PNOE study are fully compliant with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR); apart from anonymity you also have full control over your data!

Thank you so much for your participation – which gives us valuable information to protect the health of all of us!
